This is a truss rod wood sided Box Car built by American Car and Foundry for the Denver and Rio Grande Railway in 1903 as their cars 3000-3749. These cars were rebuilt in 1926 with steel "Murphy" roofs and more modern safety appliances. These rebuilt Box Cars survive today at the Durango & Silverton and Cumbres and Toltec Railroads as well as at the Colorado Railroad Museum and many tourist railroads. All LaBelle Freight Car kits come with decals. All LaBelle Cars are sold less trucks and couplers.
